Silver industrial demand hit a new record with photovoltaic applications accounting for 22% of all silver consumption globally. Solar installations reached 380 gigawatts β more than double three years ago. Each gigawatt requires approximately 60 tonnes of silver for panel metallisation, creating 22,800 tonnes of annual photovoltaic demand. Supply constraints from declining ore grades at Mexican and Peruvian mines create a structural deficit dynamic. Silver offers investors precious metals exposure with additional leverage to the clean energy transition, a dual demand driver many analysts believe not yet fully reflected in prices.
